English Language Proficiency (ELP) Assessor
A practical professional-development workshop for people who assess aviation English against the ICAO Language Proficiency Rating Scale (Doc 9835). Participants practise rating spoken samples, applying the six holistic descriptors, and recording consistent assessor judgements. This course prepares participants for assessor roles; it does not confer GCAA (or other competent authority) designation as a language proficiency assessor, and graduates are not automatically authorised to conduct official ELP tests. Formal designation remains with the competent authority.
Who it is for
Pilots’ English assessors, training managers, examiners and language specialists preparing for ICAO Doc 9835-style assessment roles. Suitable for flight instructors and training organisation staff who support language proficiency assessment. Does not claim that ATC is a GCAA-designated ELP assessor body.

Our training process follows ISO 9001 quality management principles, and course content draws on published ICAO and EASA material. Whether the certificate meets your organisation's or regulator's training requirements is decided by your employer or the relevant authority. On request, we send the course syllabus and the instructor's CV in advance.

Training is led by Davit Mazmishvili, Head of the Training Center, who personally holds teacher licences from the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency and airline transport pilot licences (aeroplane and helicopter).
